An Academic Playground Bridging Classroom Knowledge with Practical Action

The 2026 Students with Information Security competition serves as an academic playground for students to validate their knowledge and capabilities through highly practical challenges.

Concepts learned in the classroom—such as system security, cybersecurity, vulnerability analysis, cryptography, and incident investigation and response—were contextualized into specific scenarios. Students needed not only to understand the theory but also to select appropriate tools, analyze data, and rapidly determine solutions.

Each challenge represented a practical problem, requiring members to simultaneously apply technical knowledge, technological skills, and team coordination. This also provided an opportunity for students to identify missing competencies, continue self-learning, and refine their professional capabilities.

Through the competition, Information Security students gained the conditions to:

  • - Apply acquired knowledge to real-world cybersecurity problems;

  • - Hone skills in analysis, detection, and problem handling;

  • - Familiarize themselves with time pressure and challenge difficulty;

  • - Develop self-learning abilities and solution-seeking skills;

  • - Enhance task coordination and team division skills;

  • - Network and learn from the regional information security student community.

From the lecture hall to the cybersecurity arena, students directly tested their personal competencies and progressively shaped their professional mindset.
