    Low-income student support

    I. Free transportation

LHU provides free transportation support to low-income students through its annual 'LHU Tet Homecoming Bus' program to ensure they can complete their university studies and return home for the Tet holiday. The program offers a 100% free 'zero-dong' bus ride for students returning to their hometowns. In 2024, the program received 511 registrations. 251 students were transported directly by the university buses to their homes across 7 provinces (Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Dak Nong, Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Kon Tum). For students in other regions where a chartered bus was not feasible, the university provided direct financial support (totaling nearly 500 million VND) to purchase bus tickets for their journey home across 45 provinces/cities. In addition to free transportation/ticket subsidy, the university distributed 5,000 lucky money envelopes (lì xì) and presented 20 special Tet gifts to students nominated by their faculties for having particularly difficult circumstances.
